Towards next June 20th, World Refugee Day, Migrantour Network is pleased to offer FOR FREE its intercultural tours, urban itineraries guided by intercultural companions and realized to help people discover our cities as well as the most multicultural neighborhood of each city from foreign citizens’ point of view and voice.
The walks are starting on Saturday, June 15th in Cagliari with Amici di Sardegna ONLUS that promotes a walk in which literature will serve to tell some delicate aspects of being a refugee (go to the Facebook event), and then continue to Rome where on Thursday, June 20th, Viaggi Solidali will walk with the Network of Migrant Schools of Rome at 4 pm at the Esquilino (appointment in front of the church of Sant’Eusebio in Piazza Vittorio). Also in Florence on June 20th there will be a Welcome Tour for a group of girls welcomed in a Prato CAS and promoted by Oxfam Italia.
On Saturday June 22th many of the migrant cities in our network will be organising special walks for this occasion almost at the same time: in Italy Viaggi Solidali offers free tours in Milan (in Via Padova from 10 am to 12 pm), Genoa (at 11 am in the Old City) and Turin where the walk to Porta Palazzo at 3 pm will be enriched by elements of storytelling (go to the Facebook event); and in Pavia, the Cooperativa Progetto Con-tatto organizes from 10 am to 12 pm an intercultural walk open to citizenship within the annual festival Africando, Festival of Conviviality of Differences, of which it is co-organizer, which will end with an intercultural aperitif (go to the Facebook event). In Europe, on the other hand, the partners Renovar A Mouraria from Lisbon and Alter Brussels from Brussels are taking part in the day: both will promote tours with storytelling, in Lisbon 2 walks open to the public on Saturday 22nd and 29th June; in Brussels as part of the important public event of the Music Festival.
