My name is Steve* and I am a mixed-race person, meaning that I have a double culture: French from Alsace, the region I was raised in and Cameroonian, as Cameroon is my father’s country of origin, where I have been for the first time when I was 10 years old.
I have always been passionate for travelling and this has initially led me to have some seasonal jobs in tourism. I could therefore discover other countries, including the United States and Mexico, where I met people from all around the world.
Six years ago I decided to stay in Marseille, a cosmopolitan town that has actually charmed me. Indeed, thanks to its location and history, it is a natural crossroads of people and a door opened on the Mediterranean and the other continents.
I have been happy to join the Migrantour project, as it reflects my values, but also my expectations in terms of development of responsible tourism, involving the local population and helping to change the sometimes negative image that some neighborhoods have.
