SCIENZA MIGRANTE interviews Migrantour Torino.

SCIENZA MIGRANTE interviews Migrantour Torino.

SCIENZA MIGRANTE is a project of the University of Turin to tell and share stories of migration and science with the aim of enhancing the cultural and scientific heritage of migrants on the territory. A meeting space both virtual and real where stories of migration and science can be told and shared.

Since the 1990s, the migratory phenomenon in Italy has been growing steadily until today it has assumed dimensions comparable to those of states of more ancient immigration and placing the Italian experience in line with countries such as France, Great Britain or Germany. Today, migrants on the entire national territory account for about 9% of the peninsula’s resident population. Who are they? What do they do? What is the socio-economic impact they have created?

‘Scienza Migrante’ wants to make their stories known, through tales of life and science whose protagonists are migrants and their often little known or unexpressed cultural background and scientific knowledge.

SCIENZA MIGRANTE also involves the stories of Migrantour with interviews to Rosina Chiurazzi Morales, coordinator of the Migrantour project for Viaggi Solidali, and to Adriana Offredi Rodriguez, intercultural companion of Migrantour Torino and researcher in ‘Public Policy and International Relations’ at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
