On December 14, 2025, Migrantour Naples was featured in a documentary filmed by Larry Nimmer, a renowned American television producer nominated for the Emmy Awards.During his European tour to take a closer look at migration phenomena, he stopped in Naples and interviewed Evan Zeasor, a cultural guide of Nigerian origin, who became the protagonist of an extensive report.
In the detailed feature, which appears in the Everyone Has a Story series available on YouTube, Evan spoke about her personal story, how she arrived in Italy, and her experience in the city of Naples, highlighting similarities and differences with her country of origin.
She accompanied the director on the tour “The Belly of Naples”, exploring art, traditions, religions, commerce, and the layers and cross-influences of cultural and social life.
The walk began in Piazza Mercato, historically a meeting place and a center of commercial exchange, as well as the site of the popular revolt led by Masaniello in 1647 and a location where capital punishments were carried out. It was here that Corradino of Swabia was beheaded, along with the nobles who took part in the Revolution of 1799, such as Eleonora Pimentel Fonseca, Gennaro Serra, and Luisa Sanfelice.
In the “belly” of Naples, different cultures, traditions, and forms of worship live side by side. From the square to the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine, from the gathering places of the Somali community—one of the first to arrive in the city—to the city’s second mosque, opened in 1997.
Continuing the narrative, they stopped at Pakistani bijou shops lining the square, at restaurants serving traditional Bangladeshi cuisine, and at the famous Neapolitan fish market known as “sotto le mura” (“under the walls”), immersing themselves in the flavors, colors, and atmospheres of worlds in constant interaction and evolution.
Through the words of Evan Zeasor, this engaging intercultural walk organized by Migrantour Naples has also reached the United States.
The documentary, titled Naples, Italy Underground Immigrant Tour by Evan of Casba Social Cooperative, is available on YouTube.
