On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May, the “Monumenti aperti” event was held in Cagliari, where the Amici di Sardegna Association once again contributed to the opening of the Tuvixeddu site in cooperation with Migrantour Cagliari and the students of the University of Cagliari For Med, the “Tuvixeddu Vive” Committee and the Cagliari Pro Loco. In addition to these partners, it should be noted that students from the Satta Spano De Amicis Comprehensive Institute, students from the Azuni Institute and on Sunday morning, volunteers from Legambiente Cagliari also participated.
In particular, the Migrantour volunteers and the For Med students made a significant contribution to the reinterpretation of the archaeological site as an example of an intercultural place where the indigenous civilisation came into contact with the ancient peoples of North Africa, in particular the Punic people from Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and Algeria. An important testimony of peace and effective cooperation and exchange between peoples that contributed to Cagliari becoming “the City of the Mediterranean Sun”.
Ivone Soares, together with Karima Chemsi, Cecilia Pitzalis and Roberta Manca made a great contribution to the success of the event, which was well received.
We would like to thank Dr. Iab Solimann and Dr. Simona Deidda of the University of Cagliari for their valuable cooperation.
