I came to Italy in 1994 for one-Month language course, I had just graduated from high school. But then I decided to stay, for love and for my son, who is now 10. At the beginning it was hard, I had a lot of jobs, I was a caregiver…and a traffic warden ! So I decided to keep on studying, my Kenyan degree was not enough. I attended the evening classes for three years, in order to earn the chartered accountant qualification; it was beautiful and I learnt a lot.
My family is still in Kenya. I love them very much and I feel really attached to them, however I see my future anywhere but here, where my son is growing up, because I want to give him the best that I can, teaching him how to foster his hopes and passion overcoming any barrier.
