The Intercultural companions
Migrantour has the face and voice of the intercultural companions. They are the protagonists of the initiative, people of different origins, ages and backgrounds united by having lived the personal or family experience of migration and the desire to make their own active contribution in favor of intercultural dialogue. In recent years Migrantour has trained about 400 intercultural companions, women and men from dozens of different countries around the world, capable of speaking multiple languages and translating diversity into mutual understanding.
Intercultural companions are not tour guides. Some of them are cultural mediators, others have had experience in the educational sector. All of them, together, through Migrantour have shaped a new profession in the field of responsible tourism. If you choose to take part in an intercultural walk, they will be the ones to lead you through streets and neighborhoods, to tell you about their history and the history of the city, and to organize meetings and moments of insight with those who live and work in the neighborhoods.
In this section you can get acquainted with some of Migrantour’s intercultural companions through their short self-presentations.
