My name is Barbara and Marseille has been my haven for 23 years. I have left the countryside around Pertuis, in Provence, with its 6 inhabitants per km2, to go and live in Marseille, in a large area having a density of 850 inhabitants per km2. I have significantly changed my life, in the heart of a cosmopolitan town where everything is bigger, noisier, livelier and where social-economical differences are remarkable. I have always loved harbors and ships and I have got this passion from my grandmother, born on the Island of Mauritius, who used to remember my grandfather, a sailor who was often far away, every time she saw a ship. Thanks to Migrantour, I could deep dive in the history of Marseille through its migrations, harbor activities and I really look forward to talking about that!
