A walk through Bologna’s past and future: Migrantour returns to IT.A.CÀ 2025

Once again this year, Migrantour Bologna played a leading role in the IT.A.CÀ Bologna Festival, with two walking tours in the Bolognina and Cirenaica neighbourhoods. Two urban itineraries which, thanks to the voices of intercultural companions, transform the city space into a vibrant and participatory narrative, intertwining memories, identities and the future.

12 of September – Bolognina

A tour through the heart of a neighbourhood that symbolises working-class, partisan and intercultural Bologna, exploring the social and migratory history of the neighbourhood and the sites of the resistance, accompanied by those who live in Bolognina every day and recount its story from a pluralistic perspective.

10 of October – Decolonial walk in the Cirenaica neighbourhood

A walk dedicated to Italian colonial history, a chapter that is often forgotten but still present in the symbols, places and narratives of the city. An invitation to re-examine the past critically, through testimonies and knowledge that connect colonial history to contemporary migration dynamics.

The IT.A.CÀ 2025 Festival, under the national theme ‘Safeguarding the future – today’s choices shape tomorrow’s face’, promotes responsible, inclusive, cultural tourism and a practice of care for territories and communities. And our Migrantours, through itineraries that combine memory, accessibility and intercultural involvement, fully represent the values of the Festival.
