The Migrantour project in the city of Catania is continuing in various areas and with many activities.
The path started with the students of a school to identify the macro-themes linked to Migrantour, experimenting with the realisation of walks within the school where the students themselves become intercultural companions, is coming to an end.
A territorial narration path was started in the San Berillo neighbourhood of Catania. On the one hand through the collection of poems written by children of foreign origin who live in the neighbourhood on a daily basis. The poems will then be read during Migrantour walks. On the other hand, contact with historical habitants of the neighbourhood is making a great contribution to the narrative of the Migrantour route, thanks to the direct testimonies, stories and memories of those who have experienced the transformation of San Berillo.
Among these direct testimonies are the owners of three kiosks in the historic centre, each with their own story linked to the neighbourhood and the family they belong to.
The activity with schools is enriched with elements and during the walks, some neighbourhoods of the Moroccan cities are shown in order to reflect together on the similarities with certain corners of Catania.
A bigger project is in the pipeline and will have music as the protagonist, always present in the Migrantour route in Catania.
We will soon reveal more details!
