Migrantour Barcelona continues to take steady steps forward, strengthening its role as a bridge between cultures and as a platform for inclusive, transformative storytelling in the city. Over the past months, our itineraries, collaborations, and training activities have reflected our commitment to building more democratic, anti-racist, and just narratives.<\/p>\n
In June, participants of the\u00a0Democra-SI seminar<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0concluded their programme with a Migrantour in the neighbourhood of\u00a0Poble-sec<\/strong>. Guided by our intercultural companions, the group explored personal migration stories, discussed the challenges of adapting to a new environment, and reflected on the role of cultural diversity in shaping the neighbourhood\u2019s identity. This participatory and experiential approach encouraged participants to question stereotypes and recognise the vital contributions of migrant communities to Barcelona\u2019s daily life.<\/p>\n We also welcomed the\u00a0Migrantour Verona<\/strong>\u00a0team for an intensive exchange visit.<\/a>\u00a0Their programme began with the Poble-sec route led by Nora, followed by in-depth training sessions at Nexes Interculturals. Together, we explored the cooperative\u2019s lines of action, its 25-year history, and best practices for implementing Migrantour in different contexts. The visit concluded with a Raval route guided by Lorena, offering fresh perspectives and practical tools for Verona\u2019s itineraries. Zhiri, Migrantour Verona\u2019s coordinator, described the experience as \u201crich in content and diverse in styles, with each itinerary bringing something unique.\u201d<\/p>\n Our work also reached the airwaves:\u00a0R\u00e0dio Trinijove\u2019s \u201cConnexi\u00f3 Intercultural\u201d<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0dedicated its June edition to Migrantour. Intercultural companion Muniba Munir shared how our itineraries offer a lived, migrant-led perspective of the city, dismantling stereotypes and fostering new narratives. This opportunity, supported by the\u00a0Barcelona Anti-Rumours Network<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>and organised by Nexes, reinforced Migrantour\u2019s role as a tool for education and social transformation.<\/p>\n
